“We’re extremely pleased about the new nonstop service, which speaks volumes about the confidence the airline has in the strength of our destination,” said Bill Miles, president & CEO of the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.  “It’s good news for visitors as well as Lowcountry residents who now have an additional option to fly directly onto the island.”
The new route will link Hilton Head Island directly into the Northeast, offering a convenient nonstop option for visitors and residents during the spring season. An Embraer 175 regional jet, equipped with 12 first class seats and 64 seats in the main cabin, operates the Saturday flights. The E175 is known for its dual class offering, comfortable interior and impeccable reliability.

“As more customers choose to travel to warm weather markets, American looks forward to beginning new seasonal service connecting Boston to the renowned beaches and golf courses on and around Hilton Head Island,” said Jim Moses, American Vice President of Northeast Hubs and Gateways. “Customers can book confidently knowing American now offers more flexibility and choice than ever before.”

“American’s announcement is excellent news for Hilton Head Island and for our Airport,” said Jon Rembold, Airports Director for Beaufort County and of the Hilton Head Island Airport. “We strive to be the airport of choice for both residents and visitors. This added seasonal route from Boston provides another opportunity for travelers to fly right to the island and is a continuation of a long-standing partnership with American Airlines.”
